Guernsey Mini-Cartons

Why not? After designing a new look for Guernsey Farms Dairy and creating approximately 50 cartons in their line, we decided to have a little fun by creating miniature cartons. Note their size in relation to the quarter.

Peep® Armada

We like to have a little creative fun, too. Every year we try to do something different with peeps. This past year we decided, after a heavy rainfall, to sail the peeps in the parking lot behind our office. They enjoyed it, too!

Encouraging Employees?

We believe it's important to encourage our employees to find creative outlets in their personal lives. However, we're reevaluating whether or not it's a good idea for ALL employees to be encouraged.

Cuban Color

Package designs must send the right message. Figuring out what that message is can be challenging for our clients. That's why Cory personally interviews our clients to understand their product, their brand history, and their customer demographics. Starting the design process with a clear message helps us produce packaging that resonates with the target audience.

This client serves a Cuban market and wanted a color palette which reflected that culture. The color palette, fonts, illustrations, and photography are all chosen to support the clients message.

Photography Set-Up

We love eating ice cream in our photo studio... er.. uh.. we love photographing ice cream in our photo studio.

(Cory holds the current record of 8 sundae cones eaten in one day)

Sundae Cone Photography

Here's some recent photography we did for the Schnucks® Variety Cone line of novelties.

Many food photographers will tell you, beer is one of the most difficult subjects to photograph well. We suspect photographing nutty cones with bites out of them has to come in a close second. That being said, we're really pleased how well these turned out.

Popsicle Photography

Here's lil' sumthin' sumthin' we styled/photographed for the Schnucks® Junior Pops line of novelties. You'd be surprised as to what went into shooting these Popsicles... elaborate back lighting, glycerin (for the shine), multiple exposures and a giant soft box for that heavenly glow and reflection. All that being said, they sure taste good. (Once the glycerin is hosed off).

2007 Communicator Award

This nearly impossible to photograph award is the newest member of our trophy family. He seems to be getting along with the rest of the awards. We're also pleased to say he's been paper trained with all our award certificates.

We earned this Communicator Award for the Packaging Design of Guernsey Farm Dairy's Blue Moon Ice Cream.

It sure is nice when people, other than our mothers, call us winners.

Ginormous Cardboard Mailers Block Out Sun!

Don't let this photo fool you. We took a few mailers down (from the big stack) just for photographic purposes.

We must say we're pleased with our newly printed cardboard mailers. They're hard to ignore, not just because they look so good, but because they're stacked to the ceiling blocking any natural sunlight we once had.

If you're a potential client, please send work so we can reduce the cardboard stack and once again behold the wonder of the sun. (With any luck, pigment may return, once again, to our skin(s)).

The Source of Our Creative Inspiration

To clear the creative cob webs from our brains, sometimes we have some ice hockey fun but without the ice. Clients are invited to participate - but we advise they get used to disappointment if they compete with Cory. He's good!

New Digs for Red 7!

The new office space is still a work in progress, but it's been shaping up very nicely these last couple months.

We are conveniently located near I-94 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

We enjoy giving personal attention to our clients' needs. There is always a human voice at the end of the phone line and a person to greet you when you visit us.

Long counter space (not shown) and an orderly environment help keep projects on target and on time.

It's always fun to invite our clients in to have some refreshment while discussing their projects.

As you can see, the floor in Cory's office hasn't been leveled yet... this photo was taken seconds before he rolled out of his office and slammed into the reception desk.
