Red 7 Packaging's very own Creative Director and semi-anonymous street artist, "Sammo" has embarked on a personal, public art project. "Sammo" will be creating original drawings and paintings, then placing them in public places for people to find. Red 7 proudly supports Sammo's project as a way to engage people's imagination and reach out to our community. We're exploring ideas on how projects like this one could be used to the benefit of our clients local marketing efforts.

The Kar Kaddy

Grandfather Ed Vander Wilt invented and designed the Kar Kaddy. His creativity is reflected in the name as well as the activity at Red 7 Packaging.




Due to a strange set of circumstances, Grandfather Ed Vander Wilt's Demco Kar Kaddy jacket was found and is now hanging in the office closet at Red 7 Packaging.

This is the famous race car owner/builder Edward Vander Wilt, also known as Cory's Grandfather, now deceased but well remembered.

Red 7 - What's in a Name?

The “Red 7” name is an homage to the Grandfather of Red 7 Packaging founder, Cory Van De Griend. Cory’s Grandfather had a passion for creative inventions and auto racing. It is to Grandpa Vander Wilt’s creative spirit and his hand-built specialty race car, “Red Number 7”, that the Red 7 name pays tribute.

Facts about Grandpa Vander Wilt and “Red Number 7:

• Red Number 7 raced from the mid-fifties to the early sixties.
• Red 7 was active in the Iowa, Minnesota and Florida racing circuits.
• Although last seen in Wisconsin, the whereabouts of Red 7 is a mystery.
• Grandpa Vander Wilt drove it only once, claiming it was too powerful to control.

We've gathered together talented designers with over three decades of combined packaging / design experience and thousands of cartons under their belts. Add to that a time management expert as project manager and we're off to the races.... (with a little help from a high priced lawyer and all the right legal documents).

We have talented, enthusiastic employees. We have legal documents. What more could a business need?

I suppose a logo, some business cards and a web site... but we don't have time for that. We have stacks of client work to get done... gotta go.
